WARNING: Major spoilers

I’ve just finished reading JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It’s shocking how it ended. A major character dies.

As to the identity of the Half-Blood Prince, it was only near the end when it was revealed. It’s not Harry or Voldemort but this Half-Blood Prince is responsible for the biggest blow delivered ever to Hogwarts or the Order of the Phoenix.

WARNING: Spoilers

I went to National Bookstore in SM at around noon today for the sixth installment in the Harry Potter series and was surprised at how easy it was to secure my copy. I had at the very least expected having to fall in line with other fanatics but the store counter devoted to distributing hardbound copies of the Half-Blood Prince was strangely empty.

The Half-Blood Prince July 11, 2005

Five more days to go before the release of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I can’t wait to find out who the half-blood prince is. JK Rowling said in an interview last year that it’s not Harry Potter or Lord Voldemort.

In the meantime, I am forced to make do with Dan Brown’s Deception Point and John Grisham’s King of Torts.

(How could a Canadian bookstore have mistakenly sold 15 copies of the book before the July 16 release?)

Young reader, originally uploaded by engkanta.

Dylan reads up on the sun, planets, solar system, nebulas, comets, asteroids, quasars, milky way, other galaxies. The book is one in a set of 15 that he wants me to buy for him. He balked when he learned how much the set would cost and told me he did not really want the books.

One book I’m really looking forward to read is the sixth installment of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series. I managed to reserve a copy with National Bookstore over the weekend. The salesgirl said that barring any hitches, I should be able to pick up my “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on July 16. I can’t wait.
