In the course of learning how to operate our Canon PowerShot A410 digital camera, I’ve discovered some really cool features. Like its extreme close-up shot mode, which I tried out on our flowering Euphorbia plant. The results did not disappoint. I was even able to take clear photos of the black ants enjoying the flower’s nectar.

i went to my son’s school today to bring him lunch and he told me he used a third of his allowance to buy a rose flower for his teacher. this really surprised me.

i feel wonder in the most ordinary things…in the arch of my lennon’s brows…in the slant of my dylan’s eyes…the feel of their lips on my cheeks…their father’s love…raindrops on window panes…smell of wet earth…wind in my hair…

 
 

Dylan and his certificate October 3, 2005

Last week, my son received from his teacher a certificate of achievement that says he is among the academic achievers of the Grade 1 class for the first grading period. Here’s his entry about this achievement.

I was relieved. I thought he had been bumped off from the top 10 list for good. That would have been a long fall from his first honor status in preparatory.
