WARNING: Spoilers

I went to National Bookstore in SM at around noon today for the sixth installment in the Harry Potter series and was surprised at how easy it was to secure my copy. I had at the very least expected having to fall in line with other fanatics but the store counter devoted to distributing hardbound copies of the Half-Blood Prince was strangely empty.

I’ve read up to Chapter 5 of the book and there is yet no mention of the Half-Blood Prince, who is supposed to be helping Harry with his lessons when he returns to Hogwarts for his sixth year.

The latest installment in the Harry Potter series opens with the Prime Minister of the muggles trying hard to cope with the chaos wrought by Voldemort and his followers. The Prime Minister gets a visit from representatives of the wizarding world, the minister of magic and his predecessor, who told him that a few devastating incidents that occurred recently were not as natural as they appear but an offshoot of the war between magical forces of good and evil.

Harry, withDumbledore, visited a former professor of his mother and he was instrumental in convincing that person to come out of retirement and teach in Hogwarts.

Before going off to Hogwarts for his sixth year, Harry is spending the rest of the schoolbreak at the Burrow, home of the Weasleys. Hermione is there too and someone else, she is engaged to one of the Weasleys, that the rest of the family do not like.
